Personnel Policies Committee Advisory Statement

The Personnel Policies Committee (PPC) of the Marian Faculty Assembly was asked by the Faculty Assembly to look at possible due process and Faculty Handbook violations by the proposal to eliminate political science.

The PPC chose to issue an advisory statement that detailed the role of the faculty and administration in the closure of programs without specifically addressing the elimination of political science. Looking at the proposal to close political science and the actions of the administration in light of the PPC advisory clearly shows that there have been numerous due process and Faculty Handbook violations. Moreover, the unilateral attempt by the administration to close the political science program is an overreach of power.
